TRANSFORMING TRANSIT

An engineer by training, I've dedicated my professional career to helping transit agencies make transformational improvements in infrastructure, vehicles, operations, management, and customer service.
I thrive working on tough problems, finding better, more effective and efficient ways to achieve excellence while never losing the connection with the people we're working for.
Above all, I'm extremely proud to
be part of a new generation of transit leaders, working to serve the next generation of transit riders.
WORKING IN
SERVICE OF
TOMORROW'S
TRANSIT RIDERS

If we do nothing, infrastructure gets worse -- not better -- with time.
From winter's cold to summer heat, oxidization, gravity, vibration, the sheer weight of passing trains -- all of these forces must be met by an ongoing, sustained level of preventive maintenance to counteract nature's effects and prevent these forces from impacting customer safety or their service.
In short, it takes a lot to get transit right.
It's worth it.
PUTTING OFF MAINTENANCE
IS NO LONGER AN OPTION
IT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN

"THE MEDICINE IS HARSH.
THE PATIENT REQUIRES IT."
Too often, the public learns about the required level of investment the hard way -- either when a critical piece of infrastructure fails, when delays and unreliable service become the norm, or when a tragic safety incident is breaking news.
We owe it to our riders to be transparent and direct about the challenges we face.
In return, we must ask for their support of the rebuilding to come, as well as an understanding of the shared sacrifices required if we are to meet the moment.

Public transit creates thriving communities, opens doors to opportunities, helps fight climate change, and keeps us competitive in a global economy.
Each transit system is a gift and a multibillion dollar asset handed down from preceding generations who paid for it in dollars, blood, sweat, and even lives. With the gift comes an implicit obligation to take care of it, to protect it from falling backward.
Now it's our turn to do the hard work to renew our transit inheritance -- not only to improve the safety and reliability of today's service, but so that future generations may share in transit's benefits for decades to come.
